Prestige Nursing achieves Industry Training StandardThe Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the association for the UK’s £23 billion private recruitment and staffing industry announced today that Prestige Nursing Ltd has been accepted as an accredited induction scheme company for the REC’s certificate. Originally founded in 1945, Prestige Nursing has over 32 branches nationwide that are a mixture of company-owned and franchised businesses. They regularly deliver over 30,000 hours of care a week through this branch network and in 2008 the company reported a turnover of £20M. Katy Woolrich, Prestige Nursing’s Training Manager, says “It is great news that Prestige Nursing Ltd has been accepted into the REC’s Accredited Induction Scheme. The scheme offers us the opportunity to prepare consultants for the Certificate in Recruitment Practice through our own REC approved induction training. Accredited Induction Scheme Centres have to demonstrate that their training is consistent with the Foundation syllabus and their teaching complies with the REC Code of Good Recruitment Practice and we have worked very hard to achieve this”. The Certificate is the first level qualification for recruitment practitioners and as such is studied by over 2000 consultants each year. Successful students have to demonstrate their understanding of the recruitment process, employment agency and discrimination legislation, the sales process and interviewing. Commenting on Prestige Nursing Ltd’s accreditation, Judith Armatage, REC Director of Professional Development says “We are delighted that Prestige Nursing have demonstrated their belief in the importance of industry qualifications and have been accepted into the scheme. It is hugely important that the REC and industry trainers work together to raise standards and make recruitment qualifications more accessible”. |
